Tamalpais Trust entered its second decade with a new co-leadership governance structure led by Melissa Nelson (Anishinaabe | Turtle Mountain Chippewa) and Kaylena Bray (Seneca | Cattaraugus Territory), who together have decades of experience working with grassroots communities. Melissa Nelson serves as the Lead Navigator, responsible for directing the trust’s vision and growth. Kaylena Bray serves as the Director of Relations, a position focused on cultivating relationships with our partners and supporting the implementation of the trust’s vision.

Rematriation Circle
The Rematriation Circle is a global advisory body of Indigenous women leaders that counsels Tamalpais Trust on its grantmaking and programmatic activities. The Circle offers vision and wisdom on complex issues that arise, helping ensure that the Trust’s work is both culturally grounded and impactful.
